This is a subject I've been thinking about. I know that we all have trouble with organization, task completion, focussing....you know the rest of this list, but what other commonalities do we share? I understand that everyone is a unique individual..... BUT, are there common personality traits that emerge as a result of a lifetime of undiagnosed ADD ? I don't know exactly how to set -up this research question but I think it would be fun and interesting. When I asked "Are you Hilarious"...I was wanting to know if this was a common personality trait shared by other ADDers...and thanks if you responded to that . Another trait of mine ...I am vulnerable to bullies..are you? With verbal abuse, I feel shocked and then can't seem to think fast enough to defend myself. I stew about it later.
I'll tell you why this question is on my mind even though it's difficult for me to repeat .....I recently had a routine appointment with my family doctor ..blood work etc. I don't usually talk to her about my ADD symptoms ( I talk to my psychiatrist) but this time I did and was hurt and shocked by her response. She said, " I don't think that ADD is your Problem, I think your personality gives you problems." Hence...my question..Has my personality ...and yours.. been shaped by ADD?..
