Hi, I am new to this blog..But so thrilled to have one on the subject of ADHD!!!  I have been searching for one like this for years!!!  I actually stumbled upon it as I was doing research for a term paper I am writing on Adderall and AdderallXR... I have been diagnosed with Adhd as of ten years ago and believe me I had fought against the diagnosis for the first few years...I had insisted to all the doctors I was seeing that it was Depression!!!  Well to my suprise after receiving treatment for depression with psychotherapy and Lexapro, I felt much happier however something was still wrong!  Was wasn't the disorganization aand confusion STILL NOT GOING AWAY EVEN THOUGH THE DEPRESSION HAS??  THATS WHEN MY THERAPIST DECIDED TO SEND ME TO A PSYCHIATRIST..I was at first besides myself...I felt even more confused then before, so I sought out one doctor after another and they all kept saying the same thing ...It's ok you have Adhd, not cancer.. I kept fighting against the diagnosis for years..Until I couldn't take living with it anymore, I was struggling living alone balancing the chores, the workstuff, my school stuff, a social life..It just felt like one big blur to me..Just running around fragmented like a mouse iin a maze or better yet, on a treadmill..I couldn't understand why I felt like overwhelmed ever day of my life..So I gave in and read everything there is to know about the disorder and soon enogh through counseling and edjucating myself, I was finally convinced...Thank goodness, because I can now juggle my life better than everbfore!!!!  I am taking Adderalxr for pas 7 years and it has been amazing...But as we all do, there are still struggles with our disorder like the crash when the medication wears off, or the pharmacy not having the right strength of the med in stock..Or just plain chaos in trying to put too much on our plates due to the varied interests we all might have..But now for the real question!!!    I am in a relationship with a new guy in my life and we have been together for about 9 months, and guess what HE HAS ADHD too!!!  But he does not have a formal diagnosis from a dr. but he knows he has something  and after living with him NOW WE Both agree he has ADHD too!!  He is ok with it, and will be eventually going to a dr., to be possibly placed on medication and also have thereapy..BUT IN THE MEANTIME DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR TWO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE SAME HOUSE WITH ADhd???  at times it is very frustrating with the mess we get ourselves in not taking care of the chores because we both have our own business, and lots of atristic interests..Other times its wonderful because we completely understand where we are coming from..even if we don't let each other get a word in edgewise!! LOL  But any other advice or comments on the subject of couples with ADHD would be great!!!   Thanks so Much!!!
